In May 2017, the Lynnfield Select Board approved the formation of a committee to address the misuse of substances. In an effort to promote a healthier and safer community, and in response to the rising misuse of opioids, the Town of Lynnfield formed The Lynnfield Substance Abuse Prevention Coalition, known as A Healthy Lynnfield (AHL).

Today, A Healthy Lynnfield is a partnership between the Town of Lynnfield and a community-based 501(c)(3) working hard to prevent substance misuse and to ensure those impacted have the help they need.

 The Town Committee is appointed by the Board of Selectman and includes representation from many organizations and town departments.  Members participate in developing a community plan for substance use prevention and planning programs to support this mission. The Town of Lynnfield has received 2 federal substance use prevention grants th

 The Town Committee is appointed by the Board of Selectman and includes representation from many organizations and town departments.  Members participate in developing a community plan for substance use prevention and planning programs to support this mission. The Town of Lynnfield has received 2 federal substance use prevention grants that support this work.


The 501(c)(3) organization is governed by a community Board of Directors and raises funds to support prevention work that grant funds may restrict.

We currently have  2 active youth leadership groups, many volunteers,   several community partner organizations, and  town departments that meet monthly to discuss implementation and direction of our community-wide prevention initiative.


We seek broad community representation in order to engage many  voices  in substance use prevention.
